I am an acute RN with chronic experience as well. I just had a newborn son and also have a 3 year old daughter. I recently applied for a Home hemo positon with FMC mainly due to the need for better hours and a more set sechdule. I was told M-F 9-5 which is what I need. The acute schedule is way too varied and unpredictible and I would think impossible to handle with a newborn. Anyway just wondering how do you all like home hemo. Also I work for Davita and I know both companies are are crap shoot but I would think not having to be on the floor it wouldn't matter as much. Also I would think doing home hemo I would make a little more money than doing chronic or acutes. Any insite would be helpful. Thanks. BTW im in the chicago area.

Hello!!
I took a home therapies position with Fresenius in Sept and so far have not received any kind of raise I was told that it is a lateral position. I made alot more money when I worked acutes and I loved it alot more. It can be a hassle if you are going to be on call 24/7 too because if you get called on sat and the pt needs to be seen and the clinic is open then there goes your saturday. That's how it works where I'm at anyway and I also do the PD program. There is alot of paperwork. Keeping up with the home epogen is also a big stress. I love doing the training though, if I could do just that I would be happy. I have 3 children so I know what you are trying to accomplish with your schedule, I was hoping to have a "normal" schedule too.
Good luck with whatever you do!!
