Any Good Track Ideas????

On our unit, we self-schedule. Management doesn't completely follow our requests to a "T," but tries to accomodate. Since I work nights, I would like all of my shifts in a row. I "generally" work 3 12-hour shifts one week/4 shifts the next. We are required to work one weekend (or at least part of a weekend) every other week. Any good track ideas out there--things that work for you--doesn't create "extra" overtime--maximizes number of days off?

Thank you in advance:):D :D :kiss

ANY ideas would be appreciated. Need some creative input. Thank you.

I work days, here is my track that repeats every month:

D, D, -, D, -,-,-,D,D,D,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,D,D,D,-,D,D,D,-,-,-

healing touch , i used to do N/D as 7 days on then 7 days off worked well.My wife used to 5 on 5 off 2on 2off and the other person did 5 off 5 on 2 off 2 on

however it would depend on what level of acuity your patient have.MHN

I have a schedule that I have worked for the last 15 years and it's very comfortable for me. I work 12 hour shifts.

Monday and Tuesday - Work

Wed, Thurs, Fri - off

Sat and Sun - Work

Mon, Tues, Wed - off

Thurs and Fri - Work

Sat and Sun - off

Then the pattern repeats.

I have 3 days off during the week and every other weekend off. I also have every Wednesday off.
