Any good stethoscopes out there??

Hi guys!

I start nursing school in August and want to make sure I have a god stethoscope for clinicals. Ive been reading a lot of out dated posts about good stethoscopes, but was wondering if anyone recently had any good/bad experiences with stethoscopes.

When researching the name Littman Mater Classic II (I believe) and Littman Cardiology Master kept coming up. Im not looking to pay too much, maybe between $50- $120 (maybe $130 at most). If you have any great websites that have good deals, please let me know!

I would love to hear your guys thoughts!

Thank you!(:

Littman Classic is a great stethoscope and it's under $100 still! Always go Littmann.

I would wait until you graduate to get the high-priced stethoscope...

With that having been said, the MaxiScope offers a good product at a great value. They are less than $50, are made by the same people who make UltraScope, and pick up sounds amazingly well.

The Littman Lightweight costs in the $50+ dollar range and does its job decently.

If you have a scrub shop nearby, stop in and ask to try out the stethoscopes. The Littmann Classic SE II is a popular choice for under $100. There's a comparable MDF stethoscope that my local Scrubs & Beyond let me try when I was steth shopping -- the clerk said it was less money but as good, and most people prefer one or the other. Many of my classmates ended up with the MDF. I currently have the Littmann.
