Hi! I learned today that the nursing school that I would like to go to gives out no institutional scholarships (it's nova southeastern university), they have hospital sponsorship programs, but you have to be enrolled in the program in order to get it (I really don't want to pay $22,000 and take the chance of not getting any financial support through the sponsorship...).
Are there any scholarships that you can think of for me? I know that the National League of Nursing gives out some...anyone else?
If it helps, I am Hispanic, have a 4.0 GPA (high school), homeschooled and am hoping to get a 1400-1500 score on the SAT (Critical reading + math).
Thanks! I would love any help that you could give me :)

Do you qualify for federal grants? I know when I was completing my bachelors I received a messily $200 in scholarship money for an 80K education. Grants are the best way to go!

Check around your local community. Here the hospital's ladies auxiliary gives out scholarships for nursing school. You just have to check around - check with local businesses.
Sure, grants are easier, and if you can get them, great, but if not, you can find financial assistance, you just have to look for it. And be prepared to write, even for $500 scholarships, many times places want a two page paper about yourself.
Oh, and consider getting a job at a hospital. You'll gain experience and it's possible that they will reimburse/pay for your education!
Ok, thank you for that information. Are there any specific scholarships that would be good that you can think of? There are so many out there!
Well the information that I have on specific scholarships are specific to my area and require you to be a resident of my county, so it won't really help you. :) Go online and start looking - compile lists of all the bigger companies around you and make some phone calls to ask if they have any scholarships that you can apply to. I know that there are some companies that have lists, I'm not sure which are reputable or not.
