I applied to this program and although we wont find out till around march i'm getting excited with the anticipation!
I only applied to UCLA and USD and now am thinking I should have applied to more. I find it kind of annoying that each school wants recommendations on specific forms. Did anyone else find that this makes it harder to apply to multiple schools? If I don't get accepted, I'm mostly dreading asking for more letters of recs, because this is obviously time consuming for the recommender. I always feel bad asking again!
Does anyone know if you re-apply to a school, do you have to submit new letters of recommendations?
Oh wow! It's nice to find this blog online! I too applied to UCLA's MECN program and to Vanderbilt's ANP program. Just heard back from Vandy on Friday and got in! So surprised.....wasn't so sure I'd get in there since my GRE scores weren't very good. Can't wait to hear back from UCLA....I too got an email saying I should hear back the first week in March. I was wondering if anyone had an advice regarding choosing between the two school granted IF I get into UCLA. Obviously one is a MSN and the other a MSN/Nurse PRactitioner program, but I was wondering if one school was considered better than the other? Also, anyone know what type of grades they are looking for at UCLA? Just wondering if I even come close.
Also- I too was SOOOO frustrated with the whole recommendation process. The fact that every school had a different reccommendation form to fill out was very annoying. I felt horrible asking all of my teachers to fill out form after form.
Hi Jamie,
I'm in the same position as you. I just heard back from Vandy FNP and I'm in, but still waiting on UCLA. I think it comes down to what makes financial sense and also whether you are ready for the rigor of the Vanderbilt program. I mean, they are both rigorous of course, but Vanderbilt is really packing it in. It makes me nervous but also excited.
I have to say though, I think it's kind of unfair that Vandy wants your $200 before they give you an aid offer. But they kind of have us at their mercy...
Congratulations! We should keep in touch in case we both decide to go to Vanderbilt. Where are you from? I'm in California, so it will be a big move for me. I definitely think UCLA is probably a better financial choice, but not an NP program so thats an issue. Are you coming in as a non-RN too?
We will all know by the 2nd week of March. They said they were going to send letters out at the end of the 1st week, so I'm thinking depending on where you live, we will receive reponses by March 9. I'm pretty confident I will get in, but not sure if i will attend, as I have decided to go to PA school now. It would be hard to decline a ucla grad school offer though!

I've applied to a couple Accelerated BSN's as well as direct entry masters..I agree with blowin, i doubt there's such a thing as a 'safe school' these days, as everything is so competitive
Lets keep our fingers crossed for at least one acceptance!
