Any Fall 2009 UCLA MECN applicants?

Published

I applied to this program and although we wont find out till around march i'm getting excited with the anticipation!

I applied too! They e-mailed me a week or 2 ago asking for my final transcripts. I sent those in so now it's officially time to just wait!

March seems so far away....

Good luck to you :) Did you apply to any other programs?

Yeah it seems ages away :/

I applied to Azusa's EENAP program and USF MSN program and an accelerated BSN at UC Irvine and NYU.

How about you?

I applied to WesternU's MSNE-FNP program and I was lucky to be accepted to that already. I'm still waiting to hear from CSULA's entry level master's, as well as Loma Linda. I applied out of state as well--Johns Hopkins, Columbia, NYU, etc...but once I got in somewhere in California I decided that I really didn't want to move that far away!

I'm from the UK, and I really want to studying in Cali, so hopefully I get into a programme there.

Hey guys, I applied to UCLA, UCSF, USD, and some out of state schools. Does anybody know when we will hear back from UCLA and how (snail mail vs email)?

Specializes in ER.

I heard a couple weeks ago via small snail mail envelope. It was an acceptance letter from UCLA SON for the MSN program (FNP not MECN), they said that the "graduate school" will mail official acceptance packets with orientation info in "a couple months". So I guess you could heard from the SON any time, but we won't get the big packet with all the info until mid March. Good luck to you!

I've applied as well. But I'm sure I'm not at the top of the pack grades and experience-wise, so I'm hoping and praying more than expecting to get in. I keep hearing that there will be a lot more applicants to the programs this year because of the economy.

I got an email saying that my application is complete and they will be reviewing it in january and that i will be notified in march...so fingers crossed!

Hi all,

I applied to UCLA MECN and also Vanderbilt's FNP program -- although I have to admit I'm a little scared about just two years to be a nurse practitioner. But I'll take what I can get. I think I'm also going to apply to DePaul. Both Vanderbilt and UCLA sound extremely competitive, so I'd like to get another one there in the mix. Is UCLA the first choice for you all? Any "safety" schools?

Hi there,

I applied to a few schools, including UCLA MECN, and I wanted to additionally apply to a safety school, but I am not sure if there is such a thing these days for nursing schools! Not sure which school is my first choice, maybe SFSU because of the location. I will be really happy with any acceptance!

Good point re: safety schools. It's more like, "schools you may have a chance at," and "schools you probably don't." Most of the schools with direct entry masters/bachelors seem to be really good schools to begin with, so there's that. I just started to think the other day, you know, it's possible that I MAY get into one of these schools, and how the heck am I gonna pay for it?! I guess that seems like a good problem to have right now. Good luck to you!
