Wondering if there are any other dialysis travelers out there? If so, would love to chat about your experiences! I am about to start my 3rd assignment. What agencies have you worked for? Environments? Orientation? Pay? Private message me! Thanks!!

I would like info on this please:-)
Me too! But no responses yet.. I'm still a newbie, but I have talked to all the major dialysis travel companies. I might be able to answer your questions?? But I was hoping for some input from a seasoned traveler! Are you a current traveler or prospective?

NurseRies,
I too am about to start dialysis traveling. This will be my first assignment as a dialysis traveler so I would appreciate feedback. I have experience as a medical surgical traveler and I am looking forward to this assignment, as I will be trained with the Fresenius machines. Prior to this I used the Pheonix/ Gambro machines. They are "ancient" but got the job done.

Hello ladies I dont want to sat Im season. Ive traveled off and on as a LPN in dailysis for 2 years and I loved it. I never learned the fresenius machines. I just settled down and am working for fresenius so I will learn the machines and hopefully after im done with school I can go back into traveling.
Cool! Which companies or company did you work for and how was your experience with them?
I worked specifically with a company named Fortus traveling group. They are based out of Utica NY and they kept me plenty of contracts and they were very nice. My recruiter is Rebecca
Oh yeah I've talked to Rebecca with Fortus. They seem like a great company. Actually, they all do, which is why it is so confusing to decide!
I've stayed with them because they pay for my car and pay weekly versus bi weekly or however way the company hiring pays also she has always been available when I needed her
Sounds good. Yeah almost all the recruiters I've talked to have been right on top of anything I have asked. I do prefer the smaller companies, the only down side is that they have limited opportunities, compared to American mobile or fresenius. But I like the smaller, everyone knows your name, kind of company. I think in dialysis, you either have to be really open to new, rural locations, or willing to switch companies if you really are dead set on a certain city. But I also see a lot of jobs that are listed on all the different websites. Most jobs put out opportunities on 4-5 different agencies. I would recommend foundation or Quik travel to anyone interested in dialysis. New directions and fortus also seemed really personalized. I was very impressed with all the recruiters I've talked to. I really like my recruiter at Foundation.
Is it true that Quik can take up to two weeks to pay you in the beginning, although they pay weekly? Until I read your previous postings I've never heard about Fortus or New Directions, and Glen from Foundation calls now and again. What do you think about the previous long posting which was centered on the tax advantage pay rates? It is food for thought for me.

Quik travel told me that they pay on week one. The tax advantage I think is fine as long as your hourly rate is somewhere above $20. If you're hourly rate is super low like $15, then when you work overtime, you'll only be making $27 an hour and it won't really benefit. I think reasonable tax advantages are a plus. I am also a fan of companies that do completion bonuses, 401k, license reimbursement, and give you incentives to stay with their company. I am by no means an expert, but I am learning. And I think just time and asking a lot of questions helps. Is that what you were asking?
