Im sooo excited!! I just found out today I got into the August program for blocks 1&2 at MSC!! :)
I just had a couple questions for former or current students- I know its so expensive, & Ive heard from a couple friends that theres some sort of grant program (not from FAFSA or a federal grant.. I think its a state grant.. I couldnt get the other kind cause Im still under 24) that will pay for it.. Does anyone know about this or any other orginization that will help??
For current or former students there, do you have any advice or any comments on how you feel the program is run & anything I can do now to prepare?
Also, Does any one know the hours of the program & clinicals?? & when the clinicals with them start? Is it right away or after a while...?
Im going Tuesday to get the rest of the paperwork & find out more info, but Im just so excited & want to know everything I can now!! :)
If theres anything else Im forgetting please let me know!!
TIA :)

Im also in the Aug. start although not sure if I will attend. However, the grant you heard about is through various organizations through city and county agencies. They will only pay up to $4K toward the program. You will be required to do several things and meet some other criteria as well.
The program is 8am-4pm M-F from what I have been told and your clinicals start after the 14th week of school. They said your clinicals can be anytime between 6 am and 11pm.....that is what I was told the second time getting in to their program. I opted out last Oct. and things were different even then. No one really seems to be able to give a clear answer which is frustrating to me. Also, the tuition is going up in July....again.
That's all the info I have......I hear the program was fairly easy, but after the recent changes, Im not sure what the schedule is like and how difficult of a program it may be now. Glad you were able to secure a spot and good luck!

Hey there congrats, and when you do your Block II clinicals make sure you get Maricopa County hospital you will learn so much there. Plus I might have you as a nursing student..
Yes, I graduated from Maricopa Skills Center Feb 2004...

Hello,
I was just wondering if any of you went ahead and attended MSC? Do you like it?
Hey my sister is attending now, shes in Block "B", and she does like it- its a lot of work, but she feels successfully prepared so far... Im starting May 8
I'm starting May 8th too!! Did you get your letter yet?
Yep, I got my letter today actually, Ive done everything so far on the list, my only thing is financial aid! Which frustrates me to the point of not even wanting to go there! But I guess Im going to have to deal with that no matter where I go- I just hope that I can get the loans I need and get everything worked out- Im excited! Less than 4 weeks!
