Hi All,
I have been researching these boards for a couple of years now and have done all the searches on interviews. I just found out today that I HAVE AN INTERVIEW with Barry !!! :smiley_aa However, I have not found anything specific on these boards regarding Barry University's interview process.
I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on what to expect during the interview.
Do they focus mostly on CCRN/critical care type questions? Personal questions? Or, both?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just interviewed at TWU and most of the interview was CCRN/clinical stuff. Just hoping for a heads up on what to expect at Barry.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to PM me.

I have friends who interviewed and were accepted at Barry University. There is a written exam which consists of questions about critical care such as gtts, svr, swans, vents, etc. The interview was mostly personal questions....the typical interview questions. Congratulations and Good luck!
Great, thanks for the info!

Congratulations on your interview! I attend Barry's PA program, and I love it. They have prepared us well, and I am sure the nursing program is top-notch also!

Ellarose,
Did you take Barry's on-line Introduction to Anesthesia class? I am considering taking it and wanted to get some opinions from those who have already taken it.
Thanks!

I took the class and I thought it was a great review of all the sciences - and introductory anesthesia concepts. I felt the organic chemistry was the most challenging part of the course. At the end of the course you also get to see how your scores compared with the other students. At least, this is how the course was for me two years ago. I would recommend it - it's a nice refresher that can help get you back into school mode.
No, I haven't taken it, and don't plan to. I am just finishing up a 5 credit online chem class this semester, and don't plan to crack a book until January!! From what I hear, everyone says to take it easy, relax just before school starts (they even said that in the interview), and that everything we will need to know in school they will teach us.
Plus, don't want to spend the $1000 plus for the class.
Ellarose, did you have your interview yet? How was it? If you haven't yet, good luck!
Hey thanks!
Yes, I had it and got in. They let me know less than a week after the interview! I'll be starting Barry in Jan 2007. The interview process was very low key. Overview of program, 25 question critical care written test, and a pretty short personal interview. They really seem to care about your overall experience and who you are. Not just purely about CCRN, science gpa, etc.
