  1. I commuted 1.5-2 hrs every day for 28 months - I wouln't recommend it. It takes alot of your study time up not to mention the added stress of driving 4 hrs a day...20 hrs a week. I would suggest getting an apartment close to the school / clinical area and going home on the weekends.
  2. At Valley review they estimated that if you received the minimum number of questions, it is a approx 95% probability that you passed.
  3. Thanks for the replies. I took Valley in January. I have made it through the entire sweat book and Morgan & Mikhail but have yet to make it through memory master (just bits and pieces). I am taking a total of 5 weeks off between graduating and working and I was just hoping this was enough time to study AND take a break.
  4. How did you study for boards? How long did you study after graduation? Any tips for someone getting ready to take boards in about 2 months?
  5. ICUDOUCME: It's no problem...I remember the feeling of preparing to interview -I do not know how many applicants there were to either class. Being invited to interview is a good sign of acceptance. -It is a panel interview. There were 5 faculty members in the interview including 2 anesthesiologists, 2 instructors, and the program director. The interview itself lasted approx 20 min but the entire process lasted a few hours. You will meet with several faculty members including the program director and student services coordinator. You also have the opportunity to meet with current students so that you can ask questions. -There are many student who commute from Fort Myers. I personally do not think it is worth it. Because of traffic on the interstate, it can take 1/2hr to an hour to commute in the morning. -There are many students who are "40 somethings". I would say the age range is 25-50 years. Good luck!
  6. I am in the second class at Wolford College which is not affiliated with FGCU. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to the program not being affiliated with a university. The faculty and staff are willing to go above and beyond for each and every one of their students. My class accepted 21 students. Fall 2007 class accepted 30 students. The interview was very laid back...the basic interview questions: why do you want to be a CRNA, have you shadowed a CRNA, what have you done to prepare yourself? Naples is expensive with an average of $1100/month for 1 bedroom, not including utilities. Good luck
  7. I have friends who interviewed and were accepted at Barry University. There is a written exam which consists of questions about critical care such as gtts, svr, swans, vents, etc. The interview was mostly personal questions....the typical interview questions. Congratulations and Good luck!
  8. Wolford College was once affiliated with Florida Gulf Coast University. Starting February 2005, Wolford College separated from FGCU and they are now it's own entity. It is a fully accredited program. I have spoken to several current students both from the Feb 2005 and the October 2005 classes, and all of the students have nothing but good things to say about the program. The college is very open to connecting you with current students so that you can feel out the program for yourself.
  9. I took the actual Kaplan GRE prep class. I felt like it was A LOT of money for such little review. The study mataterials that came with the course (vocab flash cards, book, math review sheet) were very helpful, but not worth the price of the class.
  10. Debra! Your just the person I need to speak to! I am applying to Barry University for January 2006. I need some advice regarding acceptance, interviewing, preparation, etc! Kelly
  11. Did you apply/get accepted into a CRNA program in Florida?
  12. Hello! I was wondering if anybody has applied/attended or know someone who has applied/attended any CRNA programs in Florida, particularly Barry University or Wolford College (Formerly part of Florida Gulf Coast University).
