Have you already started licensure process as a foreign nurse you are looking at several months before you will be given permission to sit NCLEX. If you are looking at nursing then you can't do anything until you have a license. What sort of job are you looking for.

Suggested reading to start your process would be the sticky called Primer to working in the USA

Thank you so much for the quick reply, I haven't started anything yet for the licensure but Im planning to do it next month, I know it will take some time before i will be eligible to take the exam. Since I can't work as a RN till ill have my license, I just want a job that has some connections with the profession.

Be aware that you will be only permitted to work in the role of the CNA, as you do not hold a license in this country.

You will not be applying for the NCLEX exam, but you are going to be applying for licensure as an RN. There is no application for the exam, as it requires permission from a BON to be able to sit for it.

You will also need to meet the requirements for a foreign trained nurse and depending on the state, can take you anywhere from three to about eight months to get the actual approval. Each state has their own requirements, and you will need to meet those for your state.

Wish you best of luck and we also have an NCLEX Discussion Forum that can be found under the student tab with all types of tips on passing that exam.

Yes it Licensure, I stand corrected. By the way I got a phone call last time coz I tried applying as CNA but he told me that I need certification before I can work as a CNA, I even told him that I graduated a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and I have my license from my country, but still he insisted about the certification. That's why Im so confused.

Not sure who told you that but they gave you incorrect information.
