Any actual connections through "Linkedin"?

Someone was telling me about this site called LinkedIn where you make business connections through people you know. I was just curious if anyone out there has actually found a job this way. It seems kind of silly to me because you just add your friends and hope one of them knows someone that might be of interest to you. Just curious if this might be a good way to look for a job....I saw a bunch of nurse recruiters on there, but what's the point...I don't know them :uhoh3:.....Just curious.

I have a LinkedIn account, but I haven't put much up. Due to privacy issues, I"m a little uncomfortable having my education and work background posted on the internet.

What's your concern?

Usually completely "faked" resumes.

Imagine getting your exact resume only with someone else name at the top.
