Anxiety To The Max!

Published

Hello all! I am new to posting, but I have been reading even before nursing school.

I test for the NCLEX at the end of March and I am very scared!

I feel extremely unprepared:o and and my anxiety is through the roof.

I was thinking of switching my test date to have more time but I have heard that they are making the test HARDER starting in April!

How many hours of the day should I study?

Any last minute advice? thank you!

are you taking the RN or the PN?

I know the feeling...I test on Firday (RN) and am VERY anxious and to top it off, I think I may have a touch of the nasty stomach flu too. :o I took the Hurst Review, read the book again, read the Kaplan strategies book and did about 1500-2000 Kaplan q-bank questions and about 500 of the NCLEX 3500 questions and other miscellaneous questions. I hope it's enough. Everyone in my class has passed except one and I hope I'm not number 2. I think you have a lot of time studying...review content and test on that each one at a time, then just do lots of questions...or so that is what I have been told.

Good luck. :nuke:

Well having written my NCLEX just a few months ago I can understand how scared you are, so good luck with your test. To answer your questions there really is no answer. Whereas one person might need hours and hours a day of review someone else might only need one. I would suggest spending small but frequent amounts of time reviewing and doing questions. If you review for hours and hours you will overwhelm your brain and not really learn anything. Try going through some practice quizes, if you don't feel that you are doing well on them then you may want to postpone to give yourself more time to prepare. My last minute advice is don't try and cram, it just does not work and makes you way more nervous. Good Luck!!

I think Suzanne's plan would be the ticket for you. But you might have to wait another mo. to do it correctly. If you are in a hurry, you might just have to go for it! . check the sticky at the top of the section if you have 60 days to study. I test friday, and while a bit anxious, I'm so sick of studying that it overcomes the anxiety and I just want to be done with it.
