So, I'm taking the NCLEX-RN in ~a week. I'm already super anxious about it. I graduated in December with a high GPA, have done well on the Kaplan Q Bank and Q Trainers that I have done, but got sick earlier this week so my study plan got thrown off and it's adding to my anxiety.
Kaplan scores so far
Diagnostic- 66.67% (unproctored and at home)
Nursing Assessment Test - 75% (proctored at school)
Secure Predictor 1 - 64% (proctored at school)
Readiness Test - 62% (unproctored at home)
QT 1 - 52%
QT 2 - 65%
QT 3 - 68%
QT 4 - 64%
Q Bank (only completed ~300 questions) - average is 63%
Originally I had planned to do all 7 Q Trainers (and still plan on it) and also all of the Q Bank questions. Now I don't think I have time to do all the Q Bank questions unless I do ~300 questions a day and Kaplan said to do no more than 150/day. I also plan on doing the 4 sample tests. I'm reviewing content as I'm going along and definitely noticing my scores in those areas improve so plan on continuing that as well.
How is/did everyone else control their anxiety leading up to test day? I'm having trouble sleeping. I'm not hungry. I'm dreaming about the NCLEX. It's horrible.
Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
for most people this is a normal reaction. The exam will be as stressful as you make it. Take a deep breath and the day before do something other than study to take your mind off the exam
