Antelope valley fall 2015!

Hello all! I been following this forum for awhile and I have always found a lot of good information on here... I thought I would start a forum to reach out to anyone who may be applying to AVC for fall of 2015. I know we may be finding out in May. How does everyone feel about this? I know that stats requirement may of helped people that already had the the class done a small advantage. IF I get in, I'm concerned about whether or not I should work or not. I'm full time at a mortgage company which I know I would definitely have to leave... Does anyone know how to get on with a medical based job without any CNA, or medical assist license? Or if chanes of getting a job in that field are even likely with no licensing.

I don't think you have to be enrolled, they never said anything about that..

Pretty positive you don't need to be taking classes. I'm not taking anything. After this semester I'll have finished all the general Ed they want.

I have one Area C class needed so I'm taking beginning keyboard haha but that's all I need for my Bachelors after RN.. I just don't wanna be bored I guess cuz I'm currently not working.. I usually only work seasonal jobs.

Me too, so when you applied back in August was it originally for a start date in February 2015? And did you get a letter with an update? Just curious cause I applied literally in March so if anything would I probably receive an update on if I'm like on a wait list?

When I applied they still had the wait list in play & I was #263, so I was expecting it to be 2/3 semester wait cuz they said a lot of ppl either defer or lose interest in the program & go somewhere else.. The only updates I got were when they switched to the point system & to take my TEAS. The last thing I got in the mail was the points paper that we have to turn in & that was back in February.. I feel like it's taken forever tho haha

Oh ok, cause I know it's like half wait list and half point system when I spoke to her but I was just curious that if we didn't make the cut did we fall onto a wait list..is confusing lol

Yeah if we don't make it for fall, we'lol get out on a list & they keep our stuff on file & then when they do spring selection it'll be ppl on that list and anyone who got everything turned in before I think it's like Labor Day..

No problem! I was so confused when they first made the announcement for the changes, I just made an appointment with Karen Smith & talked to her.
