Another Biol 189 pickle

Published

Hey everyone, Ive searched everywhere to see if there are tips and tricks to getting into Summer CSN Biol 189 because I know how fast it goes. The reason I am asking is because I am hoping to apply to CSNS Fall 2019 program however I need Bio 189 in the summer. To take Bio 223, Bio 251 etc.. in fall. Or atleast thats the route my advisors and I chose. Im worried if I take Bio 189 at unlv or nsc over the summer I wont have enough time for the grade to be posted, to pick the next Bio thus each semester is pushed once over. Any advice? I have been out of school for 6 years since my last college course and a bit older now lol So I dont even know what month summer classes are even really posted. Ill be taking 3 courses this spring....Thanks.

From what I understand you can take your Bio anywhere as long as it is a recognized higher education establishment, and transfer your credit in. So - perhaps consider looking further afield...get the class number/name (for example, BIO201) and call your advisement to see if they would accept it as a comparable credit. I know it's not ideal, but if you are up against a time limit and wanting to get into a school by a certain date then you do what you got do, right?? LOL! Our online college here in my area is RioSalado - look them up and get the class number to see if it transfers.

Good luck!

Thanks for reply! I havent thought about looking into other institutes and transferring credits!

Rio Salado's Bio 156 easily transferred to Biol 189 for me. If I'm remembering correctly, it is possible to take eight week (?) classes early enough to get them transferred over before the end of the semester.

Yes - many of Rio's classes can be taken at the accelerated pace of 8 weeks.

Can an online class fulfill this requirement?

Hey c4tldy! I know this thread is practically dead now, but I just now stumbled upon it and I was wondering whether or not you are taking Bio 223 this coming semester?
