Hey there.
I just called my book store and my anatomy book is still on backorder.
I ordered it on December 4th! They arent sure if it will be here by the first day of school.
:smackingf
For those of you who have taken anatomy already...Do you think I will be able to survive a couple days without the book?
I ordered it as soon as it allowed me too so if Im on back order everyone else in my class has to be haha.
Im so bummed. I wanted to comb through that book and prepare myself. Oh well. It would have probably made me cry to see all the info I would have to learn anyways.

Does your college library have a copy on file. Maybe you can get an outdated copy at your bookstore, many sell for as little as $5.00. Most anatomy books are pretty much the same, try to get a Tortora which are the best in my opinion. Our teacher didnt' like our Martini book and always referred us to the Tortora copy in the study center. I hope this helped a little and that you get your problem straightened out soon

My prof's didn't like Martini either. I haven't come across Tortora but I did take out a few different types from the public library. I agree they are mostly the same but sometimes professors pull things out of the text book for tests and exams and it might not be in all text books.

If my school's bookstore runs out of a particular book that I really need, I pay a visit to Textbook Wheel or Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more to order the book online. I arrange to have it shipped overnight to my house in less than 24 hours and, often, the price I paid for the books online is much cheaper than the school bookstore price.
I agree with you that the profs pull things out of books for the tests, The poster needs to get a hold of the required book as soon as possible.

I would imagine that if the school bookstore is backordered and indeed, if the entire class is in the same situation the professor has to make some concessions in terms of potential test material, or offer some sort of makeshift solution for the time being. Would it be possible to email the prof. and make the situation known now, so its not a surprise to him/her during the first class meeting?

i went through two entire semesters of A&P without a book! ... but that's just how the classes were set up at my school (the entire class had flashdrives full of powerpoints to take home & study instead of a book).
i definitely understand how reassuring it can be to crack the books ahead of time & see what you're up against, but like Asherah said, if the bookstore is backordered, then everyone else is probably in the same situation as you are. you'll be fine. good luck to you!
thanks for your help
they just called me a couple hours ago. and I finally have the book... 200$ later
Its shrinkwrapped so I cant look inside it till the teacher okays it.
So relieved tehe. Thanks guys.
