Hi everyone!
I'm trying to finish up my prerequisites so I can apply to our CC nursing program in September for the spring 2013 semester. I only need A&P but I've been putting it off because it really scares me. I graduated HS almost 20 years ago and haven't had a biology or chem class since. I've done very well in all my other courses and have a high GPA since coming back to college.
My school offers a combined A&P during the summer...8 weeks and I would like to know if I'm crazy to try it? I have no problem working my butt off to make it happen. My kids are older so I can really commit the time needed but I'm so worried. If I wait to take A&P in the fall then I can't apply for the nursing program until May 2013 for the fall 2013 semester.
I'd appreciate any advise and thoughts!
Thanks:)
I would say go for it, if you have not much else on your plate (job, kids, etc)
I took a quick micro class the same (summer) semester as fundamentals and did well. ...did well in classes, I should mention...as far as mental health, that's a whole 'nother story :rotfl:
Just be prepared to work/study your BUTT OFF!!!
I'm taking microbiology as a 7 week summer class and I love it. I love the material, and the teacher is great. It is very fast paced though, so be prepared to work. If you have the time and energy to put into it, which I do, I think it is great. My class does 2 weeks of material from a regular spring/fall semester in 4 days(per week)! It is kind of overwhelming at times, but if you have the time, which you said you do, you will be fine!! GOOD LUCK

I am a HUGE fan of summer classes. While they are very hard, they are over quickly. You will be married to them, I hardly leave my house when I am taking summer classes. I have about 8 summer classes and have gotten A's in all of them! Good luck!
