A&P is a lot to take in
the way i studied was tackling a topic or system using different lectures. meaning if im studying the digestive system, i read my book... then i listen to my instructor... then i seek out online instructors... then i watch videos on it... over and over until i get it.
study groups help too

Strongly suggest you check out the Anatomy Coloring Book and the Physiology Coloring Book. These are not jokes or cartoony but real, excellent tools to supplement whatever books you were assigned. Available at Amazon. Get the hard copy and some colored pencils and you will thank me later.

Lots and lots of diagrams! No better way to put it in your head like a colourfully labelled picture. :)
Thank you,will try that.

dont be best friends with it, make it your B****
the only way to get through tough subjects, cause there will be many. Unless you have an indescribable love and appreciation for the subject, thats the only way around it :)

I also highly recommend doing these online practice quizzes: Web Anatomy
Speaking as a nursing student about to graduate: you WILL need to have a thorough understanding of physiology to get through nursing school. If you don't understand electrical conduction through the heart, how are you going to understand EKGs? How are you going to understand how acid-base imbalances affect the body? How are you going to know the difference between bronchitis, COPD & asthma? How will you understand how different medications metabolize in the body if you don't understand liver & kidney function?
You will come back to physiology concepts over & over during nursing school. Your instructors will expect you to have a thorough knowledge of it and will NOT review it. Those students who struggled in physiology tended to struggle in nursing school as well.
So, make it your mission to get a thorough grasp on A&P. If your school offers supplemental instruction or tutoring, attend it! Use as many online resources as you can: Khan Academy, YouTube videos, etc. Once everything starts to "click", it'll fall in to place.
Best of luck to you

I always drew my own pictures throughout a&p 1 and 2, this way I embedded the systems and structures in my head, before tests and lab practicals I redrew the picture over and over again until I was able to identify specific labels to each area without my notes. I would def suggest the anatomy and physiology coloring book as well, I used it throughout my class and it was very useful!
