Anatomy and Physiology CCC online (Colorado Community Colleges Online)

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi,

I just signed up for a summer Anatomy and Physiology I class via CCC online. It is BIO 201 and is an online lecture and lab course. I am wondering if anyone else has taken this class or BIO 202 Anatomy and Physiology II and has any helpful tips, advice or information about the class. I plan to take the second part, BIO 202 this fall. ANY info on these classes would be so helpful!

Thanks!

I took both through ccconline. There are a couple of things that I recommend. Firstly, don't bother with notes... they take WAY too long. Use the text itself as your notes. Read actively and highlight that which you would have written down instead. Then, do the publisher quizzes. I found the answers in the text and underlined them, if I couldn't find the question, but only the answer, I would write the question verbatim in the margins and put an arrow to the answer. The tests are all open book. I would put my answer in and then go back and verify it in the text.

Secondly, when it comes to the labs, be VERY detailed. You will have to describe slides or bones and put in as much relevant information as you can. Start the labs early to give yourself lots of write-up time. I took AP2 during the summer last year and some of those labs took 20 hours to write up, seriously! Don't be surprised if your labs are over 17 pages, that was about the norm for me.

I enjoyed the AP, it was challenging and really interesting. And just think, of all the pre-req classes you have to do, this one is the most relevant to nursing! It's SO COOL!! :D

Good Luck!

Oh, one last thing! On the lab tests, one question may have 5 answers that match up. Do those LAST. Think about it, one question with a single answer is worth 1 point, while one question with 5 answers means a correct answer is only worth .2 points each. Do the ones worth more first, that way if you run out of time, you will lose less. And yes, I have run out of time before. Don't sweat it (unless it becomes a habit!).
