Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know if anyone has taken A&P online and what schools they took them with?
And what are you opinions on the school.
Thanks!!

Hi. I'm getting ready to take A&P online in the fall at Boise State University. This will be my first semester there so I don't know how the school is. Good luck :)

The Dallas County Community College District offers A&P online and I've thought about taking it. HOWEVER, one thing that gives me pause is that I'd be missing out on the feedback from my fellow classmates. I'm positive that I could learn something from their questions/observations that maybe wouldn't have occured to me or may be just made clearer.
I do take a lot of classes online (History, Govt, misc gen ed) but I've discovered that the DCCCD online classes tend to be the "throw you off the deep end" type of online classes. I have spent days waiting to hear back from a professor who apparently only checks their email once every four days. :angryfire There have been times that I have asked very pertinant, time sensitive questions that have never received an answer. That leaves me to flounder around making my best guess about what the instructor actually wants. I personally don't want to be in the dark with A&P.

I took my A&P's through Rio Salado Community College. Based here in Phx. A lot of people take it through them though wherever they live and just get the tests proctored close to home.
The classes were very organized and I did well in both. Highly recommend it!

Hi, thank you all so much for your replies! Rio college was suggested to me just recently by an instructor from a Tx college saying they send there students that are overseas there to take online courses.
PhoenixGirl- how was the A&P classes that you took there at Rio? What about the labs, did you have to purchase anything like a microscope or a lab kit?
Thanks so much for you responses everyone!!!

I took both A&P courses, Microbiology, Ethics, and Nutrition online with CCD online (Community College of Denver). I enjoyed it and wish I could take all lectures in nursing online. Well, 9 weeks left until completing BSN.
P.S. Did not have to purchase anything extra; labs were virtual. However, in one of them, the prof requested we dissect a real cow's eye. The student in Colorado found them but in the South, where I was at the time, I could not find one. The prof was cool with it, I think I had to write what I would expect to see.
One thing I did like was that we had weekly online quiz, timed, open book but you had to know the information. If I was having a bad week and did not do as well that week, I had enough points to do well in the courses.

Got a question: how can you DO if you're taking the classes online? I mean, in physio the lab is to perform experiments and actually SEE what happens. In anatomy lab you touch and feel as well as look.
