An interesting birth story

ragingmonster, you're right about the post being removed for privacy's sake, but I feel compelled to assure everyone that it wasn't the privacy of the family that was at stake. I don't even know their identity. I did elect to exclude information that could have been used to identify the facility at which this birth occured, never thinking that this decision would call the veracity of the story into question. Besides being incredibly p***ed off that this is the case, since I am a regular poster on allnurses and hope that I am not considered to be either dishonest or naive, I am also frustrated because I thought this story might open up lots of interesting discussion and now I feel like I can't even share it.

First off: it was NOT a personal attack, Mercy......

And everyone, Mercy was right; it was NOT a case of privacy violation, not even close. She did nothing "wrong".

The problem came up when I said I doubted some of the pieces of the story, and due to that, I offended Mercy. I never meant to offend anyone.....

Look, If I posted a story that was NOT MY OWN account, and someone here said they were not sure they believed it--------I would not have taken personal offense to have someone say they wondered about it. This happens all the time in the current events area, doesn't it? I am sorry if I don't believe everything I read. I never meant to attack anyone, esp. Mercy! That you chose to take offense when I said I was unsure of the story, I am very sorry.

It was not about you; I just had problems with some of the pieces of the story. It did not seem to add up. I never said you lied at any point. I just said I wondered if we had the whole story.

Anyhow, that is the whole ugly truth. I started all of this by voicing my doubts. I am sorry to have disrupted the thread or angered anyone. It's a sad day when we can't say we have our doubts about a 3rd-account story/posting on an open board w/o being mistaken for insulting the poster. I am sorry, as I said, I never meant to say anyone was "lying" or offend the OP.

For discussion's sake, if you were to re-post the story, I would promise to bow out permanently from the thread in order that others may see it and participate. Does that sound like a fair deal? I will keep my nose OUT of it, ok?

You are a regular poster, yes, and so am I. I would think you would know ME better than to mean to personally attack you, Mercy. I guess we BOTH misunderstood one another.

Anyhow, it's up to you , Mercy. I am out of the thread for courtesy's sake.
