An Australian soldier was killed in Afghanistan yesterday.

David Pearce was 41.

He was a husband and father of two daughters, aged 11 and 6.

You should never have been in that hell hole to begin with.

But, sadly, our idiot government is a sheep!

My heart and prayers go out to your loved ones.

Thank you for your dedicated service to our wonderful nation, David.

May you Rest In Peace.

I hear that Mr Pearce had only been there for a few weeks. Not that it makes any difference in the long run. We've all known how dangerous it is for our soldiers, but this brings it all horribly home. Not just for our soldiers, but for their families, friends, and colleagues. Who could know how they are feeling?

I am so sorry. I am sorry he was sent there and his reward for being a brave patriotic man was to be killed. I wish your country had turned your back on us-I am just sick. I will pray for him and his family; please pass on my deepest sympathies to his family.

My brother had 2 tours of duty in Iraq and would have been sent to Afghanistan if he hadn't retired after 22 years. Every day he was there my heart was in my throat and I'd want to puke when the doorbell rang, fearing it was the Army come to tell me he'd been KIA. He came home relatively whole in body and mind. I am so sorry for the loss of Pvt Pearce.
