AMPNN at University of Rochester

Published

is anyone applying to the Accelerated Masters Program at the University of Rochester? Deadline is in exactly a month. Have you submitted your personal statement yet?

Hey guys, fellow AMPNN applicant here. I interviewed a couple weeks back. I received an email to schedule an interview in-person or through video conferencing; I chose the video. The interviewer was really nice. They seem to really care about their students. She said we should be getting a decision mid-February. Good luck to all!

???? Mid-Feb!?!? I’m here ready for a call Feb. 1st ?

I was just told today end of February for decision ??‍♀️

Hey all!

I am a little confused about the switch from the ABPNN to the AMPNN. I received an interview in December, but have not heard anything back from them since. Was that just my Bachelors interview? Since I haven't heard anything does that mean i am not going to be granted a spot for the master's program?

I’m wondering the same. I was told AMPNN decision is end of Feb and ABPNN decision is 02/10. So we get our ABPNN first. I thought it would be more like we are accepted or declined for the AMPNN and then could choose admission to ABPNN if we wish.

I too haven’t been contacted for a second interview, which looks like that’s what’s supposed to have happened. Unless they do it after ABPNN acceptance?

I just had my interview on Monday! I applied to the AMPNN and also checked the box to consider me for ABPNN. My interviewer told me 2-3 weeks so I’m guessing mid/late February. Was really impressed with the campus and the people/vibe. I’m also (if I get in) moving from California. From what I understood (don’t quote me on this ?) if you get into the AMPNN you are guaranteed a slot in that program at the end of your first year after you get your RN. Where those who get into ABPNN have to apply again for the NP portion. But I imagine if you do well during the first year and are in good standing you have priority/a leg up over all other applicants since you already know the faculty and they know you. Again I don’t have confirmation on this from Rochester but just from what I’ve gathered. I haven’t heard anything from anyone about second round interviews though. If anyone learns/hears anything or gets new info from Rochester let us know!

Hey! Glad the interview went well. Sounds like all of us only had one interview. In my interview, however, the AMPNN was not discussed, it was very vague.

Previous forums said there was a second round of interviews, which is where I read that. Maybe they did away with it!

Either way - we will know of ABPNN around Feb 10.

I had an interview yesterday! She said this was the last week of interviews and we should be hearing about the ABPNN decision mid-February. And she did say the interview was only for the ABPNN portion so I was a bit confused about when they accept for the master's portion.

I am all type of confused myself. When I was applying, I declined ABPNN consideration. So naturally I thought my interview was for the AMPNN. Although the interviewer knew I had applied for the AMPNN, like everyone else, the interview wasn't centered around the NP portion. I’m not sure if they have changes in the process or what, but its a anxious waiting game now ?

I’m guessing either we all got in or there were no spots so they didn’t even bother interviewing us ??? kidding.

I’m sending an email to my interviewer today asking for clarification about this. If I learn anything I’ll be sure to hoard the information for my own gain. Kidding! ? I’ll let you all know if/when/what info I get regarding this. Oh and I did check the option saying if I didn’t get into the AMPNN program to consider me for the ABPNN for your reference.

For those who applied to both programs. First you are accepted/denied to the ABPNN program, (previous year results from that came on 2/10 according to a few other posts) and then you interview again for the masters portion. So there will be another round of interviews for those who are being considered for the masters program. ?
