AMPNN at University of Rochester

Published

is anyone applying to the Accelerated Masters Program at the University of Rochester? Deadline is in exactly a month. Have you submitted your personal statement yet?

Yay! From what I’ve heard, first you interview for the ABPNN then if they want to, they’ll contact you for another for the AMPNN. The interview was not that bad!

@aoi2019 Yes, I agree the interview went smoothly. UR gave me the impression that they care a lot for their students. Although, I was a little confused as to why they were not asking me questions for FNP, but your response cleared that up. Thank you

Great! Of course. Did they tell you February too? For decision?

@aoi2019 Yes, they said February.

How is everyone? Just checking in.

@aoi2019 all is good, been keeping busy with family + holidays. Hope you are doing well!

Hi everyone, just scheduled my interview. How did it go? What questions did they ask?

Hey Guys! Thought I'd drop in. I applied for the May 2020 start date for the ABPNN @ UROC. I sent in my application really early...like Mid-September, so Nancy Kita called me to set-up an interview about a week later. Everything went well, and she said that they will be getting back to us 10-12 weeks after application due date (November 2019) which is around late Jan, early Feb. Hopefully they stick to that! I'll be moving from California, and will need to do all financial stuff as well. If anyone has any good start suggestions for student loans, let me know! Haven't had to get one yet, so I don't really know where to start! Good luck to everyone!

Hey! For the ABPNN? Basic questions, like everything I found on past forums and google... Why nursing? Tell me about yourself. What is nursing to you?

Hey there! We all applied to the AMPNN, so I’m not sure of the difference. I haven’t heard from Nancy, but have read that she’s active in the ABPNN. We were told Feb too. I know it’s not a lot of time to move, especially across country. I’m coming from Manhattan, but I grew up in Rochester so I can help with that. Not sure of student loans- haven’t thought of it yet!!

How long were your interviews?

How many people get interviews?

i got interviewed late dec

Hey guys, fellow AMPNN applicant here. I interviewed a couple weeks back. I received an email to schedule an interview in-person or through video conferencing; I chose the video. The interviewer was really nice. They seem to really care about their students. She said we should be getting a decision mid-February. Good luck to all!
