Here's the online info on the stethoscopes that you're looking for. They have different brands, you'd just pick one that fits your needs. It's not cheap! I went to the university medical school bookstore and asked if they have one so I can try it out. They didn't at the time but would have them in a few weeks.. So try that before buying....

Google it, I had better luck with this than at Littman's site. I found out I can't afford what I want ($3k!) but I do have expensive taste. I did buy a veterinary steth because it is 5" longer and better for listening to big people.

Hi Pokey,
I use an electronic stethoscope because I have a moderate hearing impairment. The one that I have is the Littman Electronic Stethoscope Model 3000 with ambient noise reduction. I love it. Here are some specs:
* Amplification up to 18 times greater than the best conventional Littmann stethoscopes
* Reduction of unwanted ambient noise by up to 75%
* Easy to switch between bell and diaphragm frequency modes
* Lightweight and well balanced
* Versatile chestpiece can accommodate infant, pediatric and adult patients.
* Ergonomic, single button operation
* Uses one AAA battery
The battery will last a long time because it automatically turns off after three minutes.
I paid $290.00 including shipping from Stethoscope.com. I am very glad I have this one. Plus it looks cool too :chuckle

Has anyone heard of the Stethtron Electonic Stethoscope?
I am starting my new job in Cardio next week. I have a Littman Classic II but I still have trouble hearing sometimes with it. I was going to get a Cardiology Steth, but I think I'd be better off getting one that amplifies. The problem is that there are so many on the market, I don't know which one to get. I read a lot of the postings but I'm still unsure which stethoscope is easier to hear with.
I am leaning towards Littmann but should I get the amplified or do you think the Cardiology one is good enough. How much better is the Cardiology one from the Classic II? Does anyone know?
Thanks for your help.

I have the Littmann electronic stethoscope and I love it. I had an occasion just least week to use the cardiology one and I definitely heard a lot a better with the electronic amplified stethoscope. I have moderate hearing loss. What I love about the amplified is that you have volume control.
