AmeriTech College RN-BSN online program

Published

Hey,

after careful research and taking everything into consideration I wanted in an online BSN program I decided to attend Ameritech's online RN BSN completion program. I start May 7th 2018. I am starting this thread for anyone who may want to know how the program is, just in case they were curious or were deciding to enroll in the future.

I will come back and post as much as I can and as much I can remember to this thread just to keep it updated. I was able to transfer in 3 of the 4 gen ed course they require, so the only gen ed course I have to take is Stats. the rest will be nursing courses. all together I have to take 10 courses. I would scheduled to take 2 classes at a time, and would have been done Feb 2019. but decided to take my first class, (stats) and my last class (capstone) by themselves. so I am scheduled to complete the program in April 2019. a little less than 1 year. After graduating from the program I will be eligible to board certification to be recognized as a holistic nurse, either the HN-BC or the HNB-BC. both of these examinations are nationally accredited and ANCC magnet recognized. I do know the Assc degree program at this school is very expensive, but the BSN online program seems to be around the same pricing as a lot of other online programs (with the exception of WGU and Capella FlexPath). but pricing really depends on how many of the 4 gen ed courses you can transfer into the program.

Either way I am happy with my choice and decision. Please feel free to ask questions.

Good luck! I hear it is manageable.

I sure am hoping so. thank you so much!

Just an update.... still in the Online RN-BSN Program at Amertiech College. doing good, great grades, but the work can be time consuming at times. But this program definitely is doable And i'm still working full time. I am scheduled to finish April 2019.

I just got accepted into their RN-BSN program, I guess it’s a new program they are offering. I start April 29th and graduate December 4th 2020. I’m pretty excited!

Great job. I really like the way the program is set up. Are you doing it online? I think they only have online rn-bsn. You said it was somewhat of a new program, but im not too sure if they started an onsite rn-bsn program at their birck and mortar. If you are in the online program and need sone answers to questions please let me know. I can answer the questions as best as i could. Good luck to you!

So it’s brand new, but I would be doing the regular RN progam, so I’d have a physical class (& labs) at the school, 2 days a week and do the rest online. Then next Christmas I’d graduate and take the NCLEX, then afterwords I’d start again in January and do the BSN portion all online while working as a RN (if I pass the NCLEX) so it’s oretty nice!

This is the new curriculum for the new RN-BSN track program

This looks like the same curriculum I am doing. Only thing, i didn't have to take English, sociology or psych. Just statistics. Seems like the price is much much less cheaper. And thats a good thing! Well congratulations to you! keep updating this forum with your progress when once you start! Good luck!!

Tomorrow I'm taking my TEAS exam but I'm getting nervous about if I should go to Ameritech. I heard a lot of mixed opinions and even though I think this is a right fit for me, I'm worried since some of the comments I've received are that employers don't like hiring grads from tech/vocational schools.

How many clinical hours are needed for this program?
