american sentinel online rn-bsn?

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Is anyone currently enrolled in american sentinel online rn-bsn program? I am going there in the winter and would like to know if it is worth it? I know it is alot of writing and stc, but did you like it? NEED HELP!!

I am also planning on enrolling at ASU in the Fall in the RN-BSN program. I would also like some feedback from anyone currently attending this school.

IF you look through the "Distance Learning" sub-forum, you will find quite a few comments by ASU students. I would also suggest that you check the accreditation of the school. ASU lacks accreditation by a regional association, like Middle States or a national nursing association such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Most nursing schools have both of these (regional and national nursing) including some of the on line schools such as Univer of Phoenix. ASU is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) only and that could present problems, particularly if you later decide to go for a higher degree.

There are any number of fully accredited schools with on line RN-BSN programs - in PA alone, Penn State, ,Temple and Slippery Rock all do (though all except for Slippery Rock are expensive). Other fully accredited, reasonably priced programs are Univ of Wyoming, U Texas-Arlington and Ohio Univer - all of these are in the $8,000 range.

Caveat emptor.

Actualy both the BSN & MSN programs at American Sentinel are CCNE accredited.
