American River College (ARC) ADN Spring 2019

Published

Hi everyone! My name is Christine. I have not found any post yet about the incoming application period for American River College ADN/ RN Program, so I decided to start one.

This is my first time applying at this school.

How about you guys? Is it your first time, as well? If not, how many times have you applied already?

I am going to apply next year at SCC and ARC for the second time. I got rejected at SCC on my first try. Hopefully this year or 2019 will be the year for me and all of us! :)

I applied at SCC last february and got a denial letter. I received an email today that I was chosen as one of the alternates for Spring 2019. They wont give any more information though, such as my ranking as an alternate.

I thought it was for ARC.

Congrats by the way, one step closer, did you apply for ARC Spring??

Thank you. I did. So im guessing theyre going to choose 60 students, including the alternates? :) good luck to us all :)

Thank goodness I'm busy. It's my second to last month of work and I also have to train like crazy for a competition at the begging of December, so every time I think of ARC i just go to the gym hahhah

Seeing that alternate scc post gave me a heart attack.

We have like 20 more days to go?

ETA: 15 days till the 8 weeks.

These 20 or 15 days will be a literal turture lol !

also I'm tripping over the 40 seats thing. It's always been like 25-30. I hope it's 40, though.

I actually emailed the nursing department a month ago, and they said they take 40 students

SCC does 30ish

Specializes in Emergency Department.

This is true. They usually pick around 30 students for each starting class. Every great once in a while the class will be slightly larger, up around 33, but that's unusual and only if they're bringing people back that had to leave a previous class for whatever reason. I believe they do try to keep the class size to about 30 though. It keeps the clinical groups rather manageable.

ohh that's awesome. I must have mixed it up with SCC I feel a little better. if 200 applied then 30% of us will get in or waitlisted. Not terrible odds... not counting people who end up turning their spots down.

Cant wait. We should know it by 19,20, or 21 cause they go on Thanksgiving break :)

Happy Monday everyone! Here's to another week of checking our emails constantly! Lol! I hope for good news soon for all of us :)
