I was wondering if anyone could give me any infromation on the American Medical Institute in Houston. I know a little about the school (roughly 12,000$, it's accredited, ..) - Their website is down, but you can still access some of the pages (from 2009)..it still doesn't give you much information.

Well, I don't think I'm going to be attending the program anymore. 12k is just waaaay too much to pay and they want 5k upfront, and that's just absurd. Plus, they don't qualify yet for any government financial aid, so all of it would have to be paid in cash, which i just can't do!
Back to lonestar I go to work on my gpa (gonna have to retake a few classes) and hopefully apply next spring into the lvn or rn program.
Wish me luck!
Well I took their HESI today and I passed......yeah!!! :)
Hi,congratulations on your HESI test. I'm waiting for AMI orientation class on July 16, but I don't know how much is the program yet do you know? And how much down payment is required? What did u study to pass the test and are you in the program now if so how is it going for you? I really will apreciate your answers, thanks!
Re: price
My two years of nursing school (BSN program at public school in the medical center) will cost me $10k. That doesn't include the pre-reqs but I did those at local community colleges and probably spent $3k max.
I'm getting a BSN for $1k more than they are charging you for an LVN. Think about that.

I attended the session this morning.. It was packed! The school is on the small size, but they only accept a limited number of students (she said something like less than 20) so, I can understand not needing an insane amount of space as the classes aren't that big.
The 50$ application fee..eh..I hope I do get an email back saying to come in for testing!
It's 12,000. Plus cost of books/immunizations. Classes M-F either 7-3 or 8-4 depending on where you are in the program.
I really hope I get in. ^.^
