America healthways education review center

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone!

Im here to ask about a certain review center. The name is AMERICA HEALTHWAYS EDUCATION CENTER. It was recommended to me by a schoolmate, she and her cousin have been able to pass the NCLEX-RN with it. I did a little research and saw great reviews from it. Im wondering has anyone here tried/heard of this review center? They said it has 7 days lecture and 3 days comprehensive review. Is the lecture like a discussion in class? While i know that i need to put in the work, Im a foreign graduate and have been out of school for 4 years now. I have never practiced anything nursing-related so i need all the help i can get, i need a review center that would help me content-wise as well. Ive tried kaplan and its not for me, i love their QBank but i didn't like the class, its just going thru a bunch of questions and giving us the right answer. So if anyone here tried AHEC, please let me know your input about it or if anyone has a suggestion for a good review center.

Thank You!

-H.

Hi there. I am also a foreign graduate and needs a review class. I like the reviews of American healthways...my question is: Do you know a place where i can stay during the entire course? Thank you. It will be og great help for me. God bless!

Hello beautiful people! I just took my NCLEX on Aug 1st 2017 and found out that I PASSED 2 days later (Aug. 3rd) via the BRN website! *I was in the May 2017 class* It appears that no one has written a review here in quite some time so I will give a full and honest review of my time at AHEC. At first I was rather intimidated by the giant binder of notes that they give you when you register for the class. I was also a bit overwhelmed with the price of the course since it is about $500, however there was something that pushed me to officially enroll since they have a lot of positive reviews on Yelp. It was basically a gamble that I was willing to take. But let me tell you my friends, it was worth every penny and every minute that you spend listening to Sir Don lecture.

First of all, this review session is a commitment. It is from 8am to about 6:30pm and sometimes even 7pm at night. The class lasts for 8 days. Free coffee is offered, so if you need a perk up when you arrive or anytime throughout the lecture, feel free to grab a cup! The content offered is basically a bible that will help you pass the NCLEX (that is the giant binder that I was afraid of during registration). Feeling overwhelmed with Saunders, Kaplan, or any other well known review material? If that's the case Sir Don deconstructs everything for you in an easy to understand and concise manner. If you study the medsurg portion along with the peds, OB, and mental health section, you should be fine on the NCLEX. If you are rusty with your nursing knowledge or have been out of school for a long time, Sir Don is patient enough to explain whatever you may have forgotten in a way that you will remember. In fact, many of his students are either foreign grads or people that have been out of school for as much as 10 years. But despite the informative content and helpful educational lectures, the best thing about AHEC is that the staff instills hope in their students. Both Sir Don and Ms. Mary treat their students like a family and are very approachable like an aunt or uncle, at times even like a mom or a dad. This is no exaggeration! Many students that attend his class, including myself, have failed the NCLEX the first time and lost hope for some time post exam. Attending the class helped me build my self esteem and form close bonds with strangers that went through the same pain that I experienced. I am more than thankful to AHEC, Sir Don, Ms. Mary, and the May 2017 class for helping me pass my boards!

Good luck everyone!
