If you are a person of faith or spirituality, I would strongly recommend you get out whatever holy texts will give you strength and patience and prayer. If you are not, find another plan to decompress, leave it at work, meditate, etc. PEDS ICU is probably one of the most heart-wrenching places to work on the face of the Earth. It's also one of the most interesting. You will learn something new every single day, even if you stay on that unit for the next 20 years. Good luck!

Hi all! As the header states I am an ambulatory PACU nurse transitioning to Pedi ICU. I am super excited to be stretching my wings and boarding by nursing herizon (sort of speak), but mostly I am excited to be working about children again. My peds rotation was my favorite in school. That said, as excited as I am, I want to be prepared and ready for this move. I have recently started reading my old nursing books (2004) but they are very old. I was hoping that someone could recommend any WEBSITES, BOOKS, APPS to download or POCKET GUIDES, basically any thing to get that will help me make a smooth transition. Any and all advice is welcomed and thanks so much in advance for your help.
