All depend of the basis knowledge you have and how confortable or prepared are you from school/program. Sometimes you need to read the materials in order to know them and sometimes you don't find them in the CD. I had basis question on my nclex exam and I was in shock because I was about to fail that question.
A good advice is read the rationale on CD and go back in the review book to add more information if you didnt know the answer. One of my friends told me to do the questions at the end of each chapter, if you had less than 60%...go back and review that section or chapter and repeat the questions. In this way you are sure that each section or content has been review.
Good luck!!!
I find Saunders to be easier than some of the other reviews. I score higher with Saunders and lesser with others ex: Kaplan, Nckex 3500,Drexel, Exam Cram etc. Saunders content is very helpful. Many others have passed with Saunders only. BTW I have yet to take my Nclex. It basically comes down to what is more effective for you. Good Luck ! !
I'm reviewing with Saunder's Comprehensive and their Q&A book. I've found that I tend to use the Q&A book more often and usually only turn to the Comprehensive if I'm unfamiliar with something or need a more in-depth explanation. I started out with just the Comprehensive and planned on doing a read-through of the entire book but I can't manage it. It's no complaint with their layout or writing, I think the series offers great information and rationales, but my brain is just about shot!
It really depends on your own studying preference - if you like to go for mainly reading and reviewing or just NCLEX-style questions. At this point, with my attention span gone, the questions are working a lot better for me than attempting to sit down and read like I had to do in school.

I have Saunders 4th edition and I am not fond of the layout of the book......to me it just seems like all reading, no questions. I love answering questions like the CD for Saunders. Am I just doing it wrong?
