Am I making the wrong decision?

Hey,

I need the opinion of people who are pre-nursing students wanting to be nursing students. At my current school,I am in a nursing program where I'll start in the fall. But I am not happy with the school. Therefore, I am transferring to another school. At the school I'm transferring to, I am not guarenteed a position in the BSN program, but it is a 4 yr school and it doesn't matter if I don't get accepted next year when I apply to the major because I am young (18). I also want more of a college experience rather than heading towards a profession. Do you think I am making the wrong decision by leaving a guarenteed nursing spot although my grades are very good and I have a chance at a BSN program? By going into the nursing program here at my current school, I feel as though I am restricting myself from other interest I may have. I don't know. I plan on transferring, but I don't know if I am making the correct decision.

Since you are wanting to enjoy the college experience I don't think that your making a wrong choice at all. You can test out your wings, and take subjects that may or may not be available at the school where you were accepted.

Good luck!

If you're not happy at that college, and don't mind waiting a little longer to be in a nursing program, then go for it! You have nothing to lose.

I agree with the other posters. IF you are not happy with the school and you dont mind waiting, transfer. Plus, if you want the college expereince, you may not get it in a nursing program.

SUCK IT UP, i am waiting to get into a school, the school i am currently at has me on a waiting list, i also heard so many bad things about the instructors terrorizing you, program faults etc, but i don't care i will get through and past anything nursing school throws at me. I wish i was in the position you are in. If you are guaranteed a spot at the school you are transferring to then go for it, if not like i said suck it up and push yourself through it

I say, yes...you are young. You have good grades - go with your gut. You know what makes you happy, and you'll make the right decision.
