Am I Freaking Out Over Nothing? New Job At Hospital

Published

My orientation is coming up next week. Meanwhile I've sent in my background check consent. I don't have any records and my last boss is a good friend of my dad's so I thought it was cool.

Then yesterday when my old boss went out with my dad he told him that when the background check folks called, he accidentally gave out the wrong years I worked for him, the duratoin was the same as my resume but the beginning and ending years were off. He was between clients at the time and didn't check his records.

Well they didn't anything of it, espeically since I havn't been contacted by the hospital over this discrepency.

But I'm worried because I was supposed to schedule training with one of the managers and I havn't heard back from him yet.

Is it possible I've already lost my job over this? I mean.... I can easily clear up the confusion, but my dad said don't mention it unless the hospital does. I just hope that the hospital would call me to verify before they write me off. The fact that the manager hasn't called me back to schedule training is throwing me into a mini panic!

But again, my dad said that since they havn't called or anything, that I should probably go to orientation next week and it'll be fine.

I know no one has a crystal ball, but still, what do you think?

BostonKatie, Evidently you really want this position, I hire nurses all the time and let me inform you it's a long process is not as simple as calling some one. Furthermore, If you have those doubts, here's a simple excuse to call them, begin with " My name is (state your name) you've be surprise how many potential employees leave me a message without their name or leave their nickname, therefore, after stating your name say"I'm calling because I'm schedule for orientation and training next week, I need to verify the time I'm suppose to be there and who should I report to? my cell number is" now the ball is in there park. In addition, we recruiters know how busy life can get, and while we are getting an applicant info: there could be a little misunderstanding at times, so don't sweat the little things, this can be dealt with later. Lastly, when you start working, don't forget to send a thank you card to your dad's friend, is always good to keep the communication amicable. In conclusion, I wish you the very best in all of your endeavors~

P.S. Keep us posted on the outcome..... BTW CONGRATULATIONS!:yeah:
