Anyone applied to Alvin Community College Spring 2011? I haven't seen much information regarding the application process for Alvin Community College. Please share your experience if you have applied.

Im working on switching to this college to apply for the ADN program. I am taking the ACT test in a month. Have you taken the test yet? I wonder how hard it is to get in. I am coming from San Jac and they are just ridiculous overfilled with applicants.

I just called Alvin CC nursing department and the lady that answered said they had about 300 applicants apply last January. They accept 70. Most had a GPA about 3.7. Hope this helps other people that are thinking of applying cause I had a hard time on here finding info about Alvin Community College.

Hi Kasie123,

I took the SAT...never took the ACT...I thought it was either/or??

Anyway! I know the GPA is in the Pre Reqs only, so I hope that helps... Thanks for posting..Its good to see other students applying to ACC that are on tjhis forum. Well, good luck! What semester are you applying for?? Im applying for the fall... Are also going to apply at Brazosport?

anyone applying for the fall 2011? Im going to the orientation on Feb 3. Kinda excited I hear great things about this school. My overall act score was a 27 not sure if that is good enough. Please share with me your score so I can compare lol

Im applying for the fall too..unfortunately I wont be able to go until march for the meeting becasue I am taking Micro lab at time tues and thurs...I hear really great things too and there pass rate for the nclex is fantastic! I wish you well and hopefully we will get in! I will be done with pre-reqs and all other academics portion this semester..and plan on taking the health assesment and dosage calc this summer there too so to only do RNSG courses during the program! Im sure 27 is great! Im so excited I cant wait til the 31st!

I hope we both get in pink4!!! Im pretty much done with my pre reqs too! So your taking health assessment and dosage calculations in the summer?? I did't know you can do that?? Fill me in please!!! I would love to get those out of the way!! I can't wait either. Are you applying anywhere else??

yeah..to brazosport college.. Im doing my adn first..then bsn.. then prob crna..I wanted to do BSN straight at first, but the way I see it I will understand the classes better with a little experience under my belt..Im a cna right now, and shadowing the nurses at my job..which I am thankful for cuz it allows me some experience with patients and learning on the job skills..plus you get extra points if your in the healthcare field on your app to nursing school at both those schools.. you can take those courses at ACC before even being accepted actually, online in the instructions for 2 yr, it says so..the health assesment is from may 11- may 26, and the dosage calc is June 1- July 6..Im a Brazosport now doing Micro and med term..

not yet...they cant registered until april sometime..but im lookking forward to it..I am hopeful to get in..Im almost certain the science course will be a tremendous factor in getting in for the program..at least thats what I hear..I went to a general info session last november..I do KNOW the gpa they look at is that of the pre reqs only! Which is awesome for me because I unfortunately did not take college too seriously my freshman year! lol

ok good i just checked the acc registration site and i didn't see it there. I might go ahead and try to take those :) i think the science courses will help. i actually took nutrition and growth and development online there last fall so hopefully that helps me out a little. I didnt take college seriously but now im focused!! i went to the info session too last year and they seemed really organized and the science hall is up to date, i was very impressed. I also went to wharton cc infor session and wasn't as pleased at all with their campus. I want to get into acc so bad i dont know why haha

i wonder what hospitals they do their rotations at?
