Has anybody applied to Alvin for the Spring 2023 Semester?

Aw thank yo soo much! And yes I got accepted to San Jac's LVN. I was  really aiming for ADN though. But I guess God has other plans for me. I have both completed both Psych courses as well. I'm only bombed about not getting in because I really thought my scores were solid and heard others with lower scores got in or get alternate. I know the program is competitive but gezzz! But I did email them asking the reason I wasn't accepted.

Were you accepted to North or South LVN? How many students are in your co-hort?

Hey everyone!
Not sure if anyone in this chat was accepted to Alvin Community College ADN program but I wanted to reach out and see if you could give me some advice on what I should refresh up on. I've recently been accepted in ACC ADN Fall 2023 program and I would like to be ahead and ready. Thanks in advance.

Hi Parks Time,

Purchase a secondhand fundamental of nursing textbook and read that. Or just go to YouTube.

To know:
6 viral signs (which includes pain and it is ALWAYS what the patient says it is), ADPIE, ABCs, Maslow's hierarchy of needs,  PATIENT SAFETY IS ALWAYS PRIOR (especially on the NCLEX). Go ahead and purchase a stethoscope and begin practicing taking blood ? pressure.  Practice taking heart rate by palpating the radial pulse for one full minute. Once you are good at it I guess you can take it for 30 seconds and multiply x 2.  Also, start practicing dosage calculation problems. NursingSOS and her railroad method (basically dimensional analysis) helped me to pass all my math exams and of course much practice.

Great YouTube channel:

Nexus Nursing, Register Nurse RN, Simple Nursing ( in no particular order as the are all very good teachers but one might work better for you over the other.

Hope this helps and best wishes!

@Queen Goddess CJ

Thanks so much!! Best wishes to you as well.

Hi! I just got my email today and I got placed #12 on the alternate list. I'm curious, do any of y'all know how often they actually go that far down the list? I'm trying to keep my hopes up but I'm a little discouraged.

Did you ever get in off of the alternate list? I am going through this now myself  #8
