Hello everyone!
I have a question, maybe you can give me a hand to figure this out.
Is it possible to apply to a FNP/PMHNP program if you have a BA degree in something other than nursing with a 30 unit Rn as your minor.
ie BA in Psychology with 30 unit RN as minor
BA Anthropology with 30 unit RN and so on,
I already have 84 credits toward a BA and would like to combine it rather than restart another Bachelor degree program.
I'd appreciate any info regarding this matter!

Maybe your previous BA would apply towards gen. ed. requirements for a program? :)

You have a nursing minor? Or you're asking about the possibility of having one? I've never heard of it.
What you can do though: Finish your current BA and look into Direct Entry MSN/NP programs, which would save you from having to do the entire BSN program, then gain nursing experience, then go to grad school. A search for 'Direct Entry MSN' should turn up lots of hits. It's not the traditional way to do it, but those programs are increasing in popularity.
thanks for the input, I have been checking out ELM programs local to me. Ill see what I can dig up.
I've heard of some schools having "pre-nursing" programs...is that a nursing minor? I've never haerd of one either. 91W, can you shed some light on that, for those of us who are curious? :)
The nursing minor I am speaking of would be used as a substitute for a regular 20-30 credit minor. I am speaking of the possibility of using the LVN to RN 30 unit option in CA. Since you can go from Rn to BSN or RN to MSN I was asking if anyone had done this. My 84 credits are geared towards a Psychology BA. I figure if I complete the 20 or so credits required for a BA in Psychology I would use the 30 unit option as a minor (so to speak). My Nursing goal is Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner anyway. I really dont want to back track and complete about 160 college credits for a BSN when I could be further along if I were to apply my credits more efficiently. I just want to know if you can do this or if anyone has done it. It seems as though you could.

Ok, I was searching around and found out from another thread that you can have a Bachelors degree in something other than nursing and enter a MSN program if you meet normal requirments. Usually it will be having your RN and the Bio/Chem pre-reqs. But you still have to do your research on the graduate program you are interested in.
