I need some suggestions for someone who is allergic to soap.
What can she use?
She is allergic to so many things.
Chlorine too.
Thanks for any suggestions

What about unscented glycerin bars? Or Cetaphil skin cleanser? Has she been proven to be allergic to soap or is it just her experience? Because almost all soap out there has fragrance and there are many people who are simply allergic to those chemicals.

I wonder if it is the soap itself or the fact that it isnt getting rinsed off well. I have patients complain a lot following bedbaths with the little freebie bars they put in the admission kits. Normally i dont use it, i will use a bottle of baby bath, and havent ever had anyone complain.
That's a really good point. A lot of people have a contact allergic dermatitis from either not rinsing well, using fragranced products, or using strong deodorant or antibacterial soaps. My husband even gets itchy because he stuffs too many clothes in the washer - they aren't rinsed well and he itches because of the soap. We figured this out because his clean laundry always smells VERY strongly of detergent compared to mine even though we use the same exact stuff.
She should definitely take showers instead of baths to ensure that she is rinsed very well, and she should also be using unscented laundry detergent and lotions.

I would wonder that, too.
It is the soap. She needs a good filter for the shower too. To keep the Chlorine of her.
She breaks out in hives even around her eyes.
Sad case....
Thanks for the suggestions!!
You all rock!

I had a home care patient who used nothing but baking soda paste.
