Alternates to MHCC

I am on waiting lists of all schools I applied this year. Do you have any information about the alternate list of MHCC, for example the number of alternates and how many alternates will be likely accepted in the program each year? Thank you very much

Hopefully they will be quick to notify people after the deadline. I got my letter through email, so hopefully those acceptance letters go out via email too so people have time to make it to the orientation! Good luck!!

You might want to double check your email....I read that alternates are suppose to attend the orientation whether they've been contacted for a spot or not yet. I'm sure they want us all ready to start in case we get called/emailed the week classes start.

So yeah, if you're an alternate, plan on going to the orientation regardless!

That makes sense! I'm not an alternate so I didn't read it, but now that you mention it I remember them saying that in the interview. I'm so anxious for orientation. I really want to enjoy the summer because I know life is going to get crazy, but I'm so anxious to start the program an "be on my way"!

2pm today is the deadline... any news on where we are on the alternate list? I checked last year's alternate thread, and they were at alt#30 on the 17th :)

I've been glued to my phone all day but I'm not really expecting them to start calling the alternates until maybe tomorrow. (though, I'm hoping sooner!)

I'm #21.... So I'll be sure to let you know if and when I hear!

I hope they will go through all the alternate list like they used to in the year of 2007 and 2009

I can see that I have no hope for CCC because I knew they have called about 10 wait listers to fill the gap, and the CCC class seems to be set up. Unfortunately, I am 30s on the MHCC waiting list and I am crossing my fingers :crying2:

I know how you feel, I'm #38 on Mhcc- and that's all I have.. keep your chin up!!! I'm sure we'll both make it in :)

Does anyone hear anything about alternates being called today?

I haven't gotten a call yet :( (and will totally post if and when I do to keep any other alternates waiting-I'm #21)

I could imagine it taking a bit to make it through a list. I'm sure if they don't get ahold of a person, they leave a message and give them a day or so to call them back before calling the next alternate so realistically one person could be holding up the list.

If we haven't heard by Wednesday (orientation day) than I'm sure they'll be able to let us know where they are on the list.

I just hope there are still slots available! (and not like CCC)

I would like to come to the orientation to know whether we have opportunities or not rather than waiting for phone calls. It makes me nervous wreck

i personally have notified all schools one way or another, but i know of some people who are holding out. so stay positive
