Alta Bates is posting in both Oakland and Berkeley. They're only about 10 minutes away from each other. Does anyone have any feedback on one or the other? I work ICU.

I've wondered the same thing. I often hear about the floating every four hours issue and also wonder if it only affects the floor and tele or ICU too.

Hello Underthemoonicp6, for traveler reviews of various hospitals state to state, you can try the website Travel Nursing Central; www.travelnursingcentral.com. Here you will find nurse traveler reviews of hospitals, travel agencies/recruiters, and other related travel nursing information. I am sure Alta Bates, both locations have been reviewed and rated on this site. Hope this helps.

When I interviewed with the manager of the ER at Alta Bates Berkeley, I told her I've never worked inpatient and I feel uncomfortable floating. She assured me that ER doesn't float, which seems to be consistent with other hospitals.
I'll get some info on other units when I start and report back to you all!

I have worked both. I work in ICU. Please feel free to read what I have posted about Berk. I was there the whole summer. I've also done 3 contracts at Summit (Oakland). Feel free to PM me with specific questions if you want :)

Can you paste or link what you wrote? Did you have to float at either facility?
Sorry just now seeing this...if you pull up anything on here about Alta Bates, you'll find my previous post about the floating. Yes, I floated at both. Heavy floating at AB, not so much at Summit but I hear they float a ton too. I imagine it fluctuates a bit with regard to census and how much staff they have at any given time.
