allnurses image-inspired thread

Updated:   Published

Recently, due to some feedback I have received regarding my images being posted in some members' threads, I made a decision:

"Henceforth, I will NOT be submitting any images-cartoons, animations, or memes- in any threads, other than my own, UNLESS A MEMBER REQUESTS THAT I DO SO!"

As I have noted on many occasions, allnurses is my favorite website, and one reason why is because of the stimulating and inspiring threads and posts. I read the words and immediately see images that inspire me to create.

Having worked as a nurse for over 35 years, there is rarely a time that I cannot identify with numerous situations that other members experience and post.

Since I have made a decision not to post images as noted above, one reason being that attention may be diverted from the topic at hand, I am starting this thread.

The General Nursing forum seems to be the most trafficked forum with the greatest number of threads and posts. Hence, the majority of my inspiration comes from thus.

@Emergent recently posted something in a thread that caused me to see an image:

"I once said that I had no goals other than to keep my job and make it to retirement."

Emergent's humorous statement caused me to remember a question that I was once asked during a performance review, but first, I need to set up the situation with this comic:

I was once asked during this performance review, "What do you see yourself doing in five years from now?"

And so it begins...

Don't Know How, so probably can't post a meme. Don't know that this laptop has a way to draw on it, anyway. But you can give me a 'like' just the same, if you'd like...

Try this: Find a pic that you want to post and click on it until a drop down appears. Click on "Save image as" and your files will appear. Click on a file, then click on the file's "Save" button.

To upload the image on this website, click on the "choose files" located just below, in the gray area. Your files will appear, find the pic you had uploaded, and click on it.

The pic will appear in the gray area with a "+" sign and a waste can. Put your cursor in the area where you want the pic to appear, clock on the + sign, and wah-la! you can post a pic.

Every computer that I've ever used has a "Paint" program on it. It may be an icon on your toolbar that looks like this:

Paint can also be found by putting the word in your computer's Search.

Should you get that far, or not, but you're interested, let me know and I'll talk you through it. I am completely self-taught at this and have learned through many trials and errors.

I'll attempt it when I am not watching the news followed by a baseball game, which is what is on the agenda tonight. But I'm not making any promises, so don't hold your breath!   I 'quailed' when I saw your list of directions, a common reaction for me with regards to anything computer-related, when someone says "I can show you how..." It is like someone telling me they will teach me how to play a card game; my brain short-circuits: GZZZZZTTTT!NO!

But I will try....

As Horace said, "He who has begun has the job half done" and I have A LOT of half done jobs.

With anything that I have to do, doing it half-heartedly is a quarter heart too much for me.

My computer died some time ago, so I pulled out a tablet I had bought years ago, and I do all my art and online stuff with it. Since it has no mouse, I don't remember if they're right or left clicks, but try this:

Find an online image, like a meme you like, and click on it. A dropdown will appear. If you can learn how to save that image, you're pretty much home free.

I do this because you, No Stars, have a wonderful sense of humor and I would enjoy seeing images in your posts that you find humorous.

So, in essence, this has nothing to do with you, it's all about me.

And, as Lynyrd Skynyrd sang, "That's the way it oughta be!"

okie-dokie.

Time out, though, because there are severe storm and tornado warnings on TV right now. (Be On the Lookout!) Not an excuse, but a reality. So....

It's good to know you've got your priorities appropriately arranged, No Stars.
