Hi !
Applied to Allegheny last week. Has anyone attended this school or know anyone that has completed the program? The first time pass rate is only 80%... maybe due to the speed of the program, but I would lie to hear some feedback from students!
I interviewed with them last year, and can personally attest to the interview process being exactly as described. After the initial standard program overview, I went with the director in her office and got drilled with clinical questions for about an hour. It was my first CRNA school interview, so I wasn't as prepared as I probably should have been, but it was also much tougher than the other two interviews I had. I did not get in, but was invited to interview again the following year. Luckily, I got in elsewhere, and will be starting this January. Good luck to those interviewing this cycle. I definitely don't recommend taking this one lightly, from a preparation standpoint.
Good luck with it. It was pretty brutal but glad it is over with and it was a learning experience. Then one of the questions she asked me about a protocol on my unit, she did not agree with. She had me do all these unnecessary calculations just to get that I wouldn’t change my answer. Like she didn’t believe that’s the way my unit does it. And she makes these “ummmp” sounds when she doesn’t like something. So don’t take it to heart if she does the same with you. If you have any other questions you can pm me. I will try to help you. I don’t have high hopes for that one.
holy moly.. i got in....... and I didn't even try that hard and didn't think I was going to get in.. i literally went to the interview just for the experience knowing that I was already accepted and started completing the pre requirements for another program.. I didn't prep one single bit for this particular interview and my suit was even wrinkled!!!... this WAS my first choice school but now that I got the acceptance letter, I am in such a big dilemma.. I bet I'm the first person who's ever had a program with getting accepted into a crna school... someone please tell me what their experience with this school is. I feel truly bad to deny them because the director and assistance director are super amazing and nice! Obviously, if I wasn't already way into completing my pre requirements for the other school, I'd totally choose this one too
I am super excited that you have been accepted and have options. Congratulations!! I have heard that it isn’t a great program from previous students. That they make it harder than it should be. Pick which one will be better for your life though. The one that you think will give you the most chance and best experience to be a CRNA

Can you elaborate on why it isn't that great of a program - what have previous students say about it. I also got accepted but didn't prepare that much for it. I heard that 4 people dropped out from two years ago but none dropped out yet from this year.

when I applied last year, there was no essay requirement. I called and asked if it would be looked down upon to send one in anyway. And the person who answered basically said that they will review everything I send to them. I did send an essay and I did get an interview.
Did you get in? and if so, did you eventually choose that program? I got into Allegheny and another school but I eventually chose the other school
