All Wcccd Nursing Students

U.S.A. Michigan

Hi there, I am trying to get our nursing school involved in the NSNA, (National Student Nurse Association). I received the packet today on how to recruit members, our school has not been involved in this organization in a few years, and I thought it is a good affiliation to belong to. Anyone interested let me know. It says we need 10 members before January 30, 2008. It doesn't matter what semester or level you are at, I encourage the first semester students to join as well. Let me know...

It is quite surprising that a chapter hasn't been started at our school long ago considering all of the perks and opportunities. Plus, it is something that looks pretty good on the resume.

I personally considered just joining on my own before I found this thread. The membership fee for new members is $30 for the year but increases during renewal. They also offer the option to pay for two years upfront for $70.

Will the fee be cheaper if a chapter is started through the college?

Sorry I haven't gotten on here in a while. I have been busy during our break. Yes, it would only be 20 dollars to join if our school has a chapter. Our school did have a membership a few years ago, but it fell by the wayside, and my enthusiasm for trying to push this through has as well. I met with lack of support from the office, from some student's,... all though on here the support has been great...

Maybe one of the first year students would like to vote a president and a council and get it going?? I have the materials that tell you how. I met a roadblock with trying to get it going...and I don't have time to do it all myself, nor do I want to do all by myself...We can join on our own as well, and that may be what I end up doing. Let me know what you all think. Like I said, some people said they were game for it, and other's were not. I don't have time to try and get council members and vote on a president, and I sure don't want to be the president..so maybe you first year students can get that part together. I don't know...it sounded good to me, but the staff and some of the students were not in to it...so I kind of lost my drive for it..I can see why it fell by the wayside...:o
