Algebra or Statistics?

Just a general question about these 2 classes.

Some of the programs I am applying to require Intermediate Algebra or higher. Would statistics be considered a higher level of math?

I'm pretty sure Algebra is a pre-req for statistics.

Even so, I don't think only taking stats would fulfill the algebra requirement, it's like apples and oranges, even if one is a higher course number they're different subjects.

I'm in stats atm... and it's really not that bad & I hate math! Good luck with whatever you end up doing!

The schools that I have looked at as far as math requirements go, treat these two courses separately. My BSN program required both college algebra and a course in statistics. You should inquire about the specifics at any school you plan to attend.

Some require Algebra, while others want Stats (or both). And at some schools, Stats isn't even considered a Math class, it falls under Social Sciences

Check with the particular schools you're thinking of applying to. It's the only way to know for sure.
