One of the application packets, NURSE CORPS ASSIGNMENT PREFERENCE they asked:
"
On or after date available for:"
AND
"Preference" ...
QUESTION, what are they asking? thank you.

Just as it sounds, they're asking when where you want to go and when you qo there. You're basically ranking your bases and saying if you want to go there sooner or later. That doesn't mean you'll get what you ask for. It's just something they take into account.

My recruiter made the available date as the date I would go to CoT next year. And preference is a drop down menu that gives you the option to say you prefer CONUS or OCONUS.
CONUS = The 48 CONtiguous States and the District of Columbia
OCONUS = Outside Continental United States. Overseas = Any country or place beyond the CONUS. Alaska, Hawaii and the U.S. territories are considered overseas.
Personally I put that I didn't prefer CONUS or OCONUS since I'd love to travel but if you feel strongly towards one then put that.

Next year? I wonder if we would be in the same class. I'm aiming for next year.. Although he said I can go in october.
Mine said nothing about going by October... jealous! Originally we were saying January, but my family member is getting married in February so I asked if I could start in March... sigh! Wish I could go in October!
