Hello! I am considering joining the Air Force while I am in school getting my masters in FNP. I am married and currently have two kids (we want more).
I was just wondering is it possible to balance joining with a family and going to school? Will I see my family or will it be alot of away time? any info help. Thanks!

I would recommend reserves for you. Active duty might be a bit too much.
If you can manage 2-3 months of initial training (one time) plus 1 weekend a month and 2 extra weeks per year...the reserves will be be fine.

+1 for reserves vote. The active duty side is not going to be that flexible on schedules for clinical etc. Also, remember that when you join as a med surg RN and finish your degree you still have to apply to be an FNP and the AF chooses whether or not to let you change specialties. Hope that helps.
