Air Force Nursing Selection Boards Nov 2016

Did anyone else apply for the November 2016 USAF Nurse boards? I am applying as a fully qualified ER Nurse (46N3J). Today (Dec 2) was the earliest day the board may have released results, but nothing has been released as of now (5pm PST), so I'm guessing we won't hear anything until next week.

Just looking to network with other potential USAF RNs!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to chime in. I applied for the boards as a FQ med-surg nurse and on Monday, my recruiter called and said I was accepted. He said that there are some delays and people won't be in the system officially until probably after the New Year. Also, that assignments won't be out until that time too.

She will need a conditional release from the Army. It's a form that her commander must sign saying she can leave the Army if she joins the Air Force. My recruiter needed mine before I could go to the board.

Just heard from recruiter last night, I think he was more exited than we were, said he had always wanted to go to this base. Said wife is slated to report to MacDill AFB outside of Tampa May 1st. She will not be going to COT, guess since she did similar with Army reserve. Was great Christmas present!

I passed MEPS day before yesterday, and am now medically cleared for service. I'll write a long post about it if anyone's interested. I spoke with one of the recruiters and was told that of the three nurses submitted to the board at this office, one was moved over yesterday into "select" status (the official update in AFPC) and received base assignment. Therefore, I'm hopeful the rest of us will hear soon about our status!

I know a lot of people are asking about COT. Based on friends who got commissioned around this time last year in the nurse corps, we will most likely be going to the May COT, class 17-04, 22 May 2017 - 23 June 2017. I asked the recruiter about this and was told that the Jan COT (Jan 9 - Feb 10) is already full, so it will indeed most likely be the May class.

The other thing that is a possibility is if you're "ready" to leave for COT (meaning you are free to go anytime the AF asks you), you can be contacted a couple days before and asked if you want to go to an earlier class. This happens because sometimes selectees scrolls (your commission that needs to be signed by congress for you to go to COT), get backed up and someone isn't able to attend. My recruiter told me he had a nurse that couldn't make the Jan COT this year, so he literally called another select like two days before the class started and said "we have an open slot, can you leave for COT tomorrow?" and they went. I let him know to absolutely call me if this happens, because I figure the sooner I get started, the better!

What office is your recruiter based out of?

I was selected as an Emergency Room Nurse too. Waiting on MEPS, COT and assignment. Found out 22 December (FINALLY!) Congrats all!

I am selected for the same job slot. I found out on 22 December. I will be coming in as an 02

Congrats, Eaglesfan82! Where was that on your dream sheet order?

I spoke to my recruiter today and he said names are slowly moving over in the system, so he's hoping to hear my selection, COT date, and first base in the next 2-3 days!
