Air Force Nursing Selection Boards Nov 2016

Did anyone else apply for the November 2016 USAF Nurse boards? I am applying as a fully qualified ER Nurse (46N3J). Today (Dec 2) was the earliest day the board may have released results, but nothing has been released as of now (5pm PST), so I'm guessing we won't hear anything until next week.

Just looking to network with other potential USAF RNs!

Thanks Eaglesfan, are you in the same boat as my wife, not going to COT but reporting to base? Is the delayed timeframe you spoke of your guestimate or the recruiters? Appreciate it.

The both of ours. He was saying get approved May 1st timeframe. About 2 weeks to get orders from there. May15th orders probably give 45 days or so. Puts the orders around July 1st. Probably won't have a report day around July 4th, so it will be towards July15th.

How many scrolls are there? Thought that there was only a big one. So you guys are saying that your cots are being delayed. Did you recruiters say what was causing the delays? My recruiter doesn't know at all

Spoke to my recruiter today, he says the scroll is still delayed. Apparently I'm in the same boat with 3 other nurses. My new COT is August 14th rather than May 22. Anyone else heard anything

Hi, I'm in the process also. Can anyone tell me about the interview? thanks.

There were two interviews for me. Make sure you know the Air Force RN mission statement. Both interviewers asked, and I didn't know. They asked me questions like goals and what to do with certain situations. Some questions included ventilator management, heart rhythms, drugs, etc

thank you. Can you describe the interview for me? was it a group interview or an individual interview? how long was it?

Two separate phone interviews each about 30 min long, 1:1, wasn't too bad

I commissioned last Friday. My recruiter told me they've moved my COT date in the AFRISS system from Aug to the May 22 COT. Apparently the people above him who are watching my active duty scroll are confident mine will be approved in time for the May COT. I'm just hoping each day to hear it's been approved so I know for sure I'm going!

Hi Concomitance, wondering how you got commissioned before the scroll was signed? Wife's recruiter tried to swear her in with a Reserve scroll (she is active duty) but later told he that was not valid and now waiting for the scroll to be signed to do it over. Report date was and still is May 1st but not orders and frustrated. Wish we had someone to call. Thinking about calling base she is assigned to be at on Monday and see if they can find out anything, does that sound like an ok thing to do? Have welcome letters from all the base commanders and think they might be able to help?

Just curious Eaglesfan, did you get the scroll signed and are you actually reporting May 1st? Wife in same boat, recruiter said we are going to MacDill with May 1st report date but no scroll and no orders so here we are waiting. Thanks.

My scroll has not been approved and it sounds like no one's scroll has been approved. From what my recruiter says scrolls are approved from Surgeon Generals office. Your wife's base probably can't help you with this. I think we need to be patient with this process. I think it will come within the month. It is truly the hurry up and wait. I am keeping busy selling my house and looking at places to live near my base. PCS season is in the summer and from I am told finding housing is really tough.
