Hello, I saw that a lot of people talked about the USAF NTP 2017; looking for anyone who is applying for the 2018 year? And any information from those who have previously completed the program! Thanks!
I am currently going through the process to commission in, planning on meeting with the board mid-2018 and I am still not finished. I began my process back in Feb of 2017. Still in school, but I did the accelerated nursing school so I will be done in feb 2018. I know a lot about the process if you have any questions. One thing I can tell you, DONT LET YOUR RECRUITER TALK YOU INTO DOING ENLISTED. You worked hard for that nursing degree, go in as an officer. You dont have to work for 6months either unless you want to join with a specialty, and even with that you need at least 1 year.
If you do NTP, ive been told you typically start on med/surg, but I havent been able to talk to any actal NTP grads to verify that. I would HIGHLY recommend you search Jvogue92 on youtube... she vlogs her entire process- even while she was at COT. She tells you what to complete, what to pack, what to purchase... she is awesome! She didn't do NTP, she did the direct commission as a specialty route whatever that is called, but its really helpful.
I was just informed by my recruiter that I have been put on the alternate select list. Apparently, only 20 people were selected this year, with almost 200 applicants. My recruiter said that they were trying to negotiate more spots but they didn't get them. The alternate list is small too. Only 5 people made the list. Usually there is more than 10.
Hi! I just saw this forum about NTP. When you said, alternate select list...what does that mean? Were you selected eventually? I'm not sure if you'll be able to reply since this forum was from last year. Thank you in advance if you get a chance to reply!
